A place in time

Onslow Book Nook

A quick apology at the outset for the poor lighting here...but I took these pictures at 17:17, so the light was not very good at all.

Anyway, you can see that our village phone box has been turned into a Book Nook for anyone to borrow books or leave books for others to enjoy.  The lower books are mostly for children and there is even a little step-stool for smaller bookworms to reach the shelves higher up, if needs be.

I spent a good couple of hours in Caffé Nero this afternoon (recommended by me for their delicious caramel shortbread!) chatting with two of the "girls" that I used to work with and it was great to catch up.  Mind you, it was bitterly cold out today, so I was quite glad to walk home and get home out of the strong icy wind.

Now time to cook dinner...or tea...or supper...or whatever you call your evening meal :)

Thought for the day:

"Once you learn to read you will be forever free."  (Frederick Douglass)
