Best laid plan gang aft agley

With over 20 years without maintenance the Centenary Walk in Bridge of Allan was becoming eroded and unsuitable for all but the seriously fit and able. Solution: bulldoze it level!! Result: the walk is at a lower level than the riverbank and when the river is in spate and it’s eroded banks breeched water is diverted down the walk and into the allotments and playing fields leading to erosion and a more rapid flooding of the surrounding area than would be the case if the walk water were to remain within the original watercourse.
