Mountain Brook

Here's a decently exposed picture from a dark day which looks wrong against a blazing white background. I'd be grateful if you could check it out LARGE against the dark background.

This is a lagoon along the Kedumba Creek near Katoomba. It was raining again today. The valleys and ridges were awash with mist once more but the amazing green vegetation to be seen all around is a cheery sight for someone who has seen little but brown, dying vegetation and toxic smoke for weeks and weeks on end. I am especially heartened by the ferns which seem to be jumping for joy in all directions. Conditions were cool and moist and I felt very pleased to be alive.

The pic has had a teensy saturation boost and a light treatment of "glamour glow" to accurately convey my dreamy impressions of the location and to compensate for the desaturating effect of lifting shadow areas a fraction.
