Monday.
My schedule for this entire month has been off. Usually I teach Tuesday-Saturday, but as the semester comes to an end, my usual classes were given to the Chinese English teachers so the students can prep for exams. So I am left without students to teach. So when I don't actually have to go to work, sometimes it's hard to remember what day of the week it is.
Tonight I had dinner with my friend Samantha. I haven't seen her since last year so we had a lot to catch up on. After dinner, we decided to go play pool at her current usual bar. It wasn't terribly busy since it is only Monday night, but there were a handful of people there. Two boys in particular decided they wanted to talk to the foreigners. So as the hours passed, we played dice, Foosball, and pool.
The best part of the evening though came when we were sitting at their table and found a bag of nail polish that their female friends had left. Well what else to do when you find nail polish but paint your nails. So Sam and I both got our nails painted by two Chinese boys (one on each hand). They were kind enough to let us return the favor.
So now I sit here with one hand with purple nail polish and one hand with green nail polish.
And people ask me why I love living in China? It is because of the randomness of nights like tonight.
