The Devil

We had to be out of the house for a couple of hours today to allow some viewings so headed over to Woburn for a wander round.  A cold but beautiful sunny day, although the forecast is for rain later.  I always like to see these Gargoyles and Grotesques adorning the tower of St Mary's church in the town; I'm not sure of the reason for the devils peering over each corner of the tower but can only imagine it is intended to ward off evil spirits.
