a very flooded St Aidans Country Park
Got up 6.45 to move the cars and he came for the Toyota at 7.30 this morning, poor chap had trouble with the roadworks (Yorkshire water laying new pipes) so had to park round the corner and drive a very noisy car to the low loader, so that was that done.
Then we had a nice walk at St Aidan's but it was very soggy underfoot. The picture shows the lake in the front and all the flooded fields and reed beds behind it. It's a catchment area for the River Aire when it is in flood mode they open the sluice gates to let the river flow in and stop it flooding surrounding villages. There are more lakes to the left of the picture.
Then after Lunch took the hire car back and came home on the busses. The fields either side of Barnsdale road which was closed due to flooding at the weekend were still very much underwater and if we have heavy rain this weekend it will soon be flooded again. Another job done.
Had a quiet evening. It's been a reasonable day weather wise, mostly sunshine and a bit warmer.
Molly at the vets tomorrow so up early again
