What is love?
Love can mean different things, but most of all it's in the simplest, but special moments we capture in any ordinary day. It can be the sparkles shining on water, a baby's smile, the kind glance of a stranger, the silent presence of someone in a difficult and life-changing moment.
Love isn't necessarily in some grand gesture of a dozen red roses, diamonds or the keys to a new car.
Love, in its broadest sense, englobes all, not just one person. It's about giving of oneself to everything worthwhile. All is worthwhile.
It can be something as simple as offering a smile to someone that crosses our path, or sits next to us on the bus.
Love is choosing to protect and nurture our environment, for ourselves, but especially for the children of today.
Love is not conditional, nor exclusive. Universal love is the one we need to practice the most. The whole planet needs our love.
Author and wise teacher, Eckhart Tolle, says it all so beautifully:
"Love is a state of being. Your love is not outside. It is deep within you. You can never lose it, and it cannot leave you. It is not dependent on some other body, some external form."
