An update

We're halfway through the school year and the students toke their portfolios home, to show to their parents or guardians. The toddlers don't get any report cards home, they have works and photos in their personal binder. The page with their tests results is also in it. We work with a digital selection board, which makes it easy to follow what the child is playing with and with whom. This results in interesting graphics. Parents can also view these results.
We started using portfolio's last school year and children like being able to contribute to putting them together. At home, they can talk about their work when they show it.
I and an intern worked hard to make sure all 60 portfolio's were complete. One of the teachers told me that his next learning goal was that the portfolios were kept up to date. I wrote this down to make it my learning goal, too.
