Desperate Measures
Desperate times require desperate measures, hence my blips today.
Knowing that there would be no red rose, card or chocolates delivered to the Dower House in this new life of mine, I was bold enough to take up the offer from Tim Lehoreau of Classic FM that if I sent a X to his mobile phone, I would get one back. It made my morning I can tell you, until, that is, I had a delightful breakfast coffee with EcoDad on his way to work. He was celebrating his birthday and picking up another Dower House beanie but certainly not celebrating St Valentine’s Day ......and I thought he was the sentimental kind of bloke. Sensitive but not sentimental, he says.
Later I met Magpie, my cousin’s daughter, who is recovering from a complex shoulder operation and managing very well with her right arm in a sling - certainly well enough to blip the heart on her cappuccino, not that she was desperate like me, having been in receipt of many Valentine gifts already.
Not that I’m jealous - oh no I got a kiss and a heart from Tim .......but I had to buy my own chocolates!
