Palm House: alternative view
Took the dogs to Sefton Park, hoping to blip the Field of Hope, a vast expanse of daffodils each bought and planted in memory of a cancer sufferer. Too early - despite glorious sunshine all but a handful of the daffs have decided it's not spring yet.
Blip plan B: cute ducks/swans doing cutesy/graceful stuff. No go - the lake is still drained as part of the monster regeneration project (they found a live mortar bomb in the mud at the bottom the other week, possibly from the last war). Swans all gone, 5 miserable ducks occupying a mud puddle.
Plan C: blip the regeneration work. Another failure - masses of dormant machinery but nothing much happening. The only activity was by 2 hard-hatted (dunno why) workers, one hurling grass seed in random directions, while his colleague followed with a leaf blower, sweeping the seed off the paths and onto the prepared borders.
Plan D: the Palm House, iconic Liverpool structure, basically a huge Victorian glass house which you can now hire for functions at huge expense. Went to friend's daughter's wedding there last year and have watched no.2 son perform there at a school musical event twice. No probs blipping it but it's been done so many times, needed an edge I thought. This is what I came up with.
