And so we walked.

It really did pour with rain. The river could not be forded - already it was swollen. Some of us walked out. I didn't think I was going to be hiking so my boots were left at home, they would have been useful. I did have my new pack - a much smaller one so now I have to pack smarter. It was very comfortable.

These people also were in our group walking out to reach the footbridge away up stream.

Some of the others came out by helicopter the next day but some were stuck there for another 5 days.
