Something sunny and bright!

What a day - storm Dennis is really enjoying himself. 

This daffodil was saved from outside as it had been snapped off by the wind.  

There are great flooding puddles on the top lane with currents of water running across them.  T and K cleared the top of the drains this afternoon lying along the edges of the lane but it didn't make any difference to the quantities of water.  They then had to calve a cow, separating it from the others who were inside.  It was a breach birth and luckily the calf survived after hanging it upside down on a gate for a few minutes so the fluid trapped in its body could drain out.  It is now in the dry and will be checked regularly to make sure it is feeding properly.  Poor T could not wear a coat during this procedure as his arm was needed to find out what was what so he was thoroughly soaked through by the end.  The water is wending its way up the fields in the valley but we are so fortunate not to have our homes flooded like so many people.
