Dumfries

Up at 5 a.m. to catch an early flight to Edinburgh.  Stormy, but it was a fast and good flight. A little boy sitting behind kept us amused. Dad, Dad, why is there a big hole in the road? Dad, Dad, can I have my tablet?  "Dad, Dad, why is the battery flat?"  "Dad, Dad, you're and a....ole."  To which dad replied, "Stop that, don't talk like your mother."!!!!!  Later, dad phoned mum to tell her that all was well.  When he came off the call, the little boy said "Dad, Dad, why did you call mum a "b..ch".  "I didn't," said dad, "you're talking like Mum again."  Interesting.

The rest went smoothly, had to upgrade the hire car because all our gear and personal stuff wouldn't fit in the boot of the economy car.  Now in Dumfries, not much to do here on a Sunday night.   Pic is the river Nith in near flood.  In the town some shopkeepers were mopping up.  The river must have burst its banks during the night, but it has gone down again thank goodness.
