The Power of Influence

Today, G & I got to experience a government level event in the form of the Global Women's (Leadership) Forum. We were part of the we-fi event which was running alongside it.

I've worked at this event in 2016 on the organiser's side. Being a delegate today was such a different experience! We got to listen to some amazing women starting with Carla Harris. The day continued with more practical and inspiring stories. The "By invitation only" We-Fi lunch was a proper sit-down, three-course meal with gourmet food.

I can't stop thanking God for our friend Gladson who remembered that G wanted to hear Theresa May speak. That will happen tomorrow. Today, we had Ivanka Trump, Sheikh Mohammed, our Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan and Theresa May in the hall at the same time. We also had several government ministers and heads of financial bodies like the World Bank and the IMF. Amazing.

There was much talk about the importance of supporting women and making them more prominent in the workplace/economy. It was super to hear local Emirati men agreeing, and one (Khalfan Bel Houl - Heaf of Dubai Future Forum) even went as far as saying women had done some amazing things in the region and men now have to play catch up!

I need to keep this short and get enough rest for another full-on day tomorrow. I've chosen a few snippets to sum up the day for my blip...
