The Fleece Inn

We packed everything up and left the holiday cottage after a lovely birthday weekend and drove to The Fleece Inn at Bretforton near Evesham. 

It's a beautiful half timbered pub which is over 600 years old and now owned by the National Trust. It's full of character with small rooms each with a roaring fire - ours had an inglenook fireplace too. It was just the place to shelter from the wind and rain.

After a drink we had a delicious Sunday lunch - I had Gloucester Old Spot pork with all the trimmings followed by bread and butter pudding and custard, all delicious.

Afterwards we were going for a walk around the pretty village but the rain was torrential and blown horizontal by the wind so we decided against it.

We all went our separate ways after a great weekend together, in our case stopping at Stourport on Severn to have a look at the canal and river.  The roads and fields everywhere were flooded, I hope that no-one has had the water in their houses this time.
