Sunny Sunday

This morning we had a more leisurely start after two days of high intensity walking and touristing. Enjoyed another four course breakfast in our cute little hotel before heading out. We were heading for a Photography Exhibition but it had clearly moved on a long time ago and so we headed to the Port instead to gaze at the yachts. A slow meander around the old town again to try some of the famous Nicòise Socca (a chickpea flour pancake). You can’t buy Socca in Old Nice without queuing for an age, so in the end it was all a little underwhelming. We walked along the Promenade again and found a couple of the iconic blue chairs to sit for a while and read our books.

This evening we had a Galette Complète (because no trip to France is really complete without one, excuse the pun), another ice cream and a ride back to the hotel on the brand new tram.

It’s been lovely today but we did get a bit of a shock when we turned on BBC News to see the devastation caused by Dennis. Horrendous.
