Fuel shortages
This photo doesn’t quite capture the extent but Liberia is currently suffering fuel shortages. People start queuing the night before in the hope that some fuel might arrive. It created chaos on the already chaotic roads with a short few kilometres taking hours. Basically the harbour where fuel tankers normally dock wasn’t dredged meaning they couldn’t dock. This meant that the tankers went on to Sierra Leone and trucks were sent from Monrovia to collect fuel in Freetown. Luckily we were mostly unaffected but it was incredible to see how it can bring a country to a slow standstill.
Today was productive in the office though working with a colleague to set up a workflow to tag hundreds of thousands of camera trap images from one of the proposed protected areas.
