Three go to Madrid
Backblip
Up at 7am and saw the weather was blowing a blizzard! We left the house at 740, even although our flight is not until 1215.
With the bridge closed we headed to Edinburgh Airport via Stirling, and barring some commuter traffic jams, it was an effortless journey Arriving at the parking place at 845. I shouldn’t have stressed so much...
We cleared security so quickly and sat down for breakfast at Caffè Nero, then Ben and I did some shopping. He was so excited to be heading to Madrid .
Before the flight took off we had to have the wings de iced and that was interesting to watch. Good smooth flight over and we got the train from T4 into Atocha station, around a 5 minute walk to our apartment. Lovely apartment on the 5th floor, with a lift thankfully. Ben had his own room with a bathroom and was very pleased to have a memory foam mattress - seems he loves them:)
We unpacked (didn’t take long only here for three nights) and went out a wander ending up in the SAN Miguel market where Ben had his first proper Spanish churros. LOVED THEM!
I had found a great Tapas restaurant - really buzzing and the food was superb.
Didn’t wait long though we were all exhausted and we have two full on days so off to bed as will be an early start tomorrow.
