Flotsam And Jetsam

Normally terms applied to marine debris - however it  seems appropriate for this lot. A mixture of natural items - wood, leaves, reeds etc.  and rubbish deliberately thrown away (plastic bottles mostly) washed down in the recent storms.

The was the view on the upstream side of Wetherby bridge this morning. An awful lot stuff accumulated over the last week or so. Try large, so much more twiggy!

The extra gives some idea of how high the water has been - the sand on the floor was deposited by the river, and is about two metres above the current river level. There are also a few twigs, and bits of grass deposited in the back of the seats. The view through the arch was almost completely submerged yesterday morning.

An oven cleaning, bed-linen washing, shopping, banking, dog walking, car vacuuming sort of day....
