A few weeks ago someone in our church suggested that we produce a 2021 calendar for sale as a fund-raiser. "And we could use some of Ivar's photographs," she continued. Having then (perhaps against my better judgement - we shall see) agreed to this proposal, the lady in question - let's call her Anne, for that is indeed her name - sent me an email with some ideas for each month.
While our ideas may diverge as the year progresses, and I am hoping that others might chip in with their photos too, the suggestion for February was a picture of some of the snowdrops in the kirkyard.
An attempt to photograph these on Sunday went awry (see yesterday's Blip for details if you are interested) and so I took advantage of a brief weather window this morning to dash over to Cumbernauld and prostrate myself on the grass and photograph various clumps of snowdrops - what is the collective noun for snowdrops anyway? - from different angles and heights. Thankfully, no-one entered the kirkyard during this exercise, otherwise they may have thought a resurrection was underway.
Photos taken, dusted myself down and then successfully avoided the next downpour by a matter of minutes - the heavens opened as I was getting into the car. Job done. And, as an added bonus, the suggested photo for next month is an inside job.
