For one shilling and thruppence (around 6.5p), on this night in 1933 you could have danced the night away to Sid Teale's band at the University of Sheffield's Mappin Hall (part of the Sir Frederick Mappin Building).

We found this poster amongst the archive of Lorna's art work, and believe that she may have created it.

This theory is made on that basis that her brother Theo was an active sportsman when an undergraduate at the University of Sheffield. If he helped to organise this dance for GymSoc, perhaps he asked his sister to design the poster to advertise it?
