Life in Sunny Dubai

Safari Dinner

(18/2/20)

I am finally doing the journal for this day! The reason it's taken so long is because it was hard to choose just one picture for the day.

So, we had a fairly straight-forward Wednesday (from what I can remember now!) G & I both did our stints at work and then got home for the big event of the day which was celebrating a landmark birthday of a new friend from church

A 50th birthday needs to be celebrated in style so first off, we went to Neos Bar at the Address Downtown, a place that G & I take visiting guests to when we can. It re-opened some time last year after the entire building went through a major renovation, so it was our first time back in years.

The view from the 63rd floor is still one that has to be experienced and our friends were well impressed. They'd never seen the Burj Khalifa from top to bottom before. We watched the sun go down and a few (Dubai) Fountain shows. Sadly we couldn't linger as we had to move on to the next venue, but not before we drove along Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. A drive which has wowed everyone we've taken. We made it to Caesar's to eat their sizzlers. It's another place our friends had never been to and they loved the food.

We just finished the main course when it was time to move on to the next place... Q's Bar at the Palazzo Versace. Q for Quincy Jones. He flies out new artists from America every few months. They had an amazing lead singer with a strong voice and great rapport with the audience. It's mind-boggling that just three musicians can produce such great sound.

David and Pushpa are teachers, so they were happy to leave at the first break. We were home by 11 and they were home not long after. It's incredible the things we can do within a 5km radius from our flat. I love where we live :)
