Birthday drinks

For Jon's birthday, we took ourselves out to a pub in the next village called The Wheatsheaf. We have been visiting Gresham for 22 years, owned a house here for 15 years and lived here full time for the last 5 years, yet we have never been in before. Well, its lovely. Full of character, but not full of people. A fire in the wood burner, pews to sit on, and a cute little bar. They also do food, and have rooms to let. It is perfect for a mid week drink for people who don't go to pubs much! We had a nice evening talking to each other, and making plans. We made a list of places we'd like to visit one day, not in this country. It wasnt very long. So now I need to work out how we do it before we are too old to enjoy it. Hopefully we can at least do a couple from the list anyway! Rome and Pompeii, New Zealand and Canada, The Somme, Norway Fjords and Sweden (that was Jon - can't say I'm fussed about Sweden, but I'll go with him if he's going) Devon in the caravan in July is this years plan. Much easier for me to plan that one, and probably just as enjoyable.
