This Morning

One
brave leaf
leaves its red bed,
stretching
slowly
sunward.

(I spotted this single leaf, the first of 2013, on the flowering red currant bush, a native plant in our front yard/garden. The back yard had a very different microclimate this morning, apparent on plants, as well as Phil's big gas grill, which lives on the patio year-round.)
