After a few experiments this morning, I was sufficiently confident of the client's error for me to put it to him tactfully. Then I improved my understanding of the behaviour of И's code for the client's problem, as I'll have to do more work to make it efficient and reliable. I ended the day with a good technical chat with the guy here that I get on with best, both personally and professionally.
