The House of Mercy

Daffodils in the therapy room. I love that the S from whom I rent a room and a therapists chair on a Wednesday provides fresh flowers too. I always notice and noticing beauty is part of being present in so many ways.
A Muse and A Tune
A few years ago I was due to be teaching in Louisville Kentucky for a week, and worked out that I could lay over in Minnesota to see my old buddy Chris and his lovely family. I then discovered that Sarah Jarosz was playing The Guthrie, so I bought tickets for us all. I’d found a link of her covering Ring them Bells earlier that year, and that was my introduction to this astonishing bluegrass /jazz /contemporry /Americana/ mandolin /banjo playing talent who has also developed some fine songwriting of her own. We had such a great evening, her performance dazzled us all.
Two years ago I went with another old buddy also called Chris to see her in Leeds in a small venue to celebrate his birthday, (my photo of Sarah at the gig) I asked her to play Ring them Bells she obliged.
Two days ago I posted I’m with Her – Sarah is part of that trio, and I’ve just discovered a cover she’s done of yesterdays singer Billie Eilish which is quite remarkable. Sarah Jarwosz singing Bad Guy including the mike wobble!
Today’s tune is one of her own House of Mercy
