Walk 4/50 Oregon City: McLoughlin Historic Distric
Walk 4/50 Oregon City: McLoughlin Historic District 1.5 miles plus an additional .25 mile from taking the stairs at the Municipal elevator.
Additional walker - Cassandra Hernandez
This was a cool walk learning a bit of Oregon history along the way. We saw the oldest home in Oregon, the 1845 Francis Ermatinger house. Inside the home in 1845 the flip of a coin determined Portland's name. There are some really cool old homes in the neighborhood with the names of the original owners and the type of house it is. Along the McLouglin Promenade you will come to the country's only municipal elevator and 1 of 4 in the world. It connects the town's river and bluff levels. The elevator was placed into service on Dec 3rd, 1915. The walk ended at the Atkinson Memorial Church with some beautiful stained glass by Portland's famed Povey Brothers
