Improvisation day

She’s fast becoming very at home at the royal academy. We were there for a Future Talent day, but one of their team is director of the junior programme she would join and she was the first person we saw today. She told us that the previous day she’d been talking about katie with the bassoon teacher who is now Katies mentor, and our preferred option for “what next”. Primary Royal Academy very much want Katie.

Anyway, the future talent day was fabulous fun for her. They spent the day creatively exploring a piece of art and building a brand new piece of music around it. Katie was absolutely delighted that her opinions and ideas were not just listened to, respected but were then used as a fundamental part of the piece. It was a weird piece but wonderful! She has started to make some lovely friendships with the other young musicians from future talent and the team absolutely love her. It’s such an exciting organisation to be part of.
