Boat of Garten

We finished our last interview this morning in Saint Andrews and set out for Aviemore.  The higher we climbed over the Cairngorms, the darker it got and then it started to snow, gently at first and then heavily.  The temperature gauge in the car never went below zero and the roads stayed fine until the last few miles into Boat of Garten.  Slightly strange little hotel/pub but cosy enough for two nights. We cranked up the heating and are relaxing and looking out at snow covered hills.  There is an old fashioned train that runs from here into Aviemore and very pretty it all looked in the evening snow.
