reading glasses
My glasses fell apart today while just sitting in their case, so I went to Lenscrafters to get them fixed. They told me I didn't have an extended warranty so they couldn't just put them together again. They said that I would need another exam and a new prescription, and that they couldn't fix them even if I paid cash for it. They had no satisfactory answer as to what was different about my eyes because I didn't give them extra money a year ago.
See, this is why I'm cranky.
I got glasses in Mexico once. They cost me $40. They worked fine and lasted for years, and the only reason I don't wear them now is that my prescription changed. I've added up all the expenses, and it turns out it would be cheaper to go to a foreign country to get new glasses than to go across the street to Lenscrafters.
Lesson learned.
