Not long now?

We have lost three trees on our boundary. It all started when a 200 year old beech had to be felled because it had a fungus. This must have destabilised the area because in the recent stormy weather two more trees went down, another mature beech and a horrible overgrown leylandi. The beech had been leaning for very many years and it always surprised us that it hung on so long. Now the two trees in my blip, a holly and a yew, are very exposed without their former companions, and on Wednesday we discovered cracks in the soil around the base. They do seem to be leaning, but maybe they always did!  It seems that these two are doomed as well. Whilst we have been pleased that we can now see sunsets, if these two go we will feel very exposed.  Watch this space!
Meanwhile I wandered round the garden looking for a blip. It is horribly cold out there, and not much new to photograph. I do find it all rather depressing.
