Big mouth!

The boys slept till 7.15 which was unlike them. James got in a strop because Thomas’s wooden elephant was bigger than his. (I’d got both boys the Big Five carved wooden animals in South Africa) and I’d randomly put them in 2 bags). He got over it!

We took the boys to Alnwick Playhouse to see opera North: Green Eggs and Ham. It was for 4-7 year olds and was a Dr Seuss story. They had 2 opera singers and 9 piece orchestra and began with an interactive workshop introducing children to the music, instruments and themes within the piece. They were enthralled. James practiced the screechy end of the soprano along the pavement as we headed for a cafe for a quick lunch. We’d not normally take them for junk food but it was all we could find. Here’s Thomas tucking into his adult size burger and salad. James ate is separately- half of the bun’ followed by the burger.

I had to leave them with Mr C to go for my knee X-ray. It was speedy - the GP only referred me this morning! He’s leaving my BP for 2 weeks as it was 110/63 this morning so seems to fluctuate rather a lot.

Now Mr C is driving the boys home and #3 daughter and family have arrived. Ella and Nathaniel are less hectic than the boys and daughter and husband are cooking our dinner so it’s quite relaxing!
