The Phoenix
My hubs and I have been married for almost 20 years and for that entire time, we've had a 1970 Camaro in pieces in our garage. The last time it saw a highway was sometime in the 1980's. But...it has been in the family for 50 years, first owned by MIL, then brother-in-law and finally by Hubs. And the plan has always been to restore it to it's former glory - all one needs in money and/or time. And for all the years that hubs has had it, the jokes in the family have been many - to which he has always replied "just you wait...the Phoenix shall rise again!"
Well, I am here to tell you that the Phoenix is very nearly ready to rise at long last. We've had the car at a local restoration shop since last winter. Layers of paint have been removed and then lovingly put back on. Layers have been sanded and buffed and polished. It just needs a headliner, a rear bumper and a couple of other small things before it will be ready to drive back to the Lane. And I have to tell you that it is absolutely beautiful.
This made today's choice of blip quite easy. How could I not post a shot of the beautiful Phoenix? One more in Extra. (and yes, I fartnarkled this shot in Topaz ReMask).
We've had a low-key day. After the visit to the restoration shop this morning, we've both been working on projects around the house. Decided that I need a day of rest from the gym and it's just too cold out to walk today. So, a good day for this and that. On my list today was responding to a request from the Michigan Bluebird Society for some shots of bluebirds for an upcoming educational event they are doing.
Thanks for stopping by.
