This is Ickworth church on the Ickworth Estate just outside Bury St Edmunds. The church is Norman and is still owned by the Hervey family although Ickworth House, grounds, gardens and a large endowment were given to the National Trust in 1956 by the Hervey family in lieu of death duties.
Ickworth House is currently undergoing roof renovations, I noticed in the shop that pieces of slate (miniscule) from the old roof are being sold to help with the restoration fund, with suggested donations of £10.00 per piece!!
Our plan was to see the Snowdrops but somehow we took a wrong turning and ended up walking 11k steps through beautiful parkland and woodland.
