Rodents rule

This morning I found myself at the train station 10 minutes early. This is unheard of. However, I made the most of it by buying a pastry and earning the attention of pigeons.

It was nice to be in the Farringdon office and the work was steady and not too taxing, which is perfect for a Friday. I listened to a random 100 playlist and rediscovered a few tunes I'd forgotten about.

A friend was free for lunch and we headed to a new chips 'n' beans place around the corner for a catch-up. The Thames has flooded into her garden but the house is safe. One tree has fallen down and taken off the garage guttering, but nothing horrendous. She's not looking forward to more rain this weekend. Paws crossed it's not soggy.

Our local cinema sometimes shows "Surprise" films, which are always pre-releases so none of the audience could have seen them. We don't know what the film is until the title comes up on the screen. Tonight, Teresa and I hadn't heard of the film at all, but it's great so go and see it when it comes out. Misbehaviour is based on a true story following a group of women's liberation campaigners and the 1970 Miss World competition. It shows how far we've come from 1970 (thanks to women's lib et al) as you could feel the audience cringe when the guys on screen made throw away comments about women's bodies and their intelligence. Oh my goodness. I particularly appreciated seeing the real-life people at the end of the film, panning from the actress to the women's lib campaigner or Miss World contestant as she is today.
