Bums on eggcups
We met our mate Tom tonight for one of our six-weekly-ish Chew & Chat sessions. We went Korean in the Kimchi Hophouse and met for aperitifs just a few doors away in MeMa's pub. To describe MeMa's as quirky is to put it mildly. From its Mad Hatter's Tea Party chairs to its psychedelic smoking area, it's gloriously over the top.
We only had one drink there because it's too noisy for our liking, even though the smoking area we escaped to is less raucous. The table we sat at has a cut-off front of a Vespa scooter holding it up at either end, and from there we were treated to this view of some of the clientele seated on what looked suspiciously like eggcups.
The food was really good in Kimchi, made all the nicer by really wonderful staff, and conversation was non-stop and wide-ranging. We wrapped up the encounter around one a.m. and managed to flag down a taxi to take us home in the rain (will we ever become dry again?!).
