Chaenomeles

This morning we went on a slightly later walk in Epping Forest as we had to wait for the rain to stop.  We were joined by Zeus09smum's friend J,  plus her dog and spent the entire walk chatting, so I didn't take a single photo.
Back at home the skies eventually cleared for a while so I dashed out to the garden to find something to blip.  My choice today is one of the few flowers in bloom, chaenomeles, or flowering quince.  I do like the rich red of this particular one and its colour is very welcome during these grey, wet and windy days.
