decoration

this afternoon the kindly Mister, Felicity and i spent a few hours decorating the church for Jean's service tomorrow.  simple primrose posies (made by Felicity) in tiny jars we found in the vestry, and lots of ivy and other foliage from Stair House & extra primroses and bits from our gardens too. we were so pleased that we used up everything we'd gathered, very little was wasted.  

i think Jean would have loved the simplicity as well as the care taken.  
having never been in a quiet church working to make it pretty for a friend, i found the silence and whispered conversations about what should go where had a timeless & consoling quality.  

this decorating ritual has been done since forever - since we lived in caves.
a profound experience.
