Another Door Opens
I have a new friend named Julie. We met 2 weeks ago in the muddy lane walking our dogs. Julie's dog is a Patterdale, like mine. So obviously we had to have a natter. I learned that Julie had just moved into the village in January from Lincolnshire, Also discovered that she is into textile crafting and singing. Funny you should say that Julie!
So I told her about the craft groups I go to and also about the Weavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild, which I have been threatening to go to but just never got aroundtuit ! So we decided to give it a go today.
Wow! What a wonderful day we had. Apart from the vast array of textile projects being worked on we found a lovely, friendly and welcoming group of ladies. I also discovered that my new friend is something of an expert in abstract needle art.
We have both signed up to learn to spin and I have found someone willing to help me with my weaving.
Oh what a day! Well worth the 40 mile round trip in intermittent snow. Can't wait until next month's meeting.
Now I have to steer Julie into some singing!
