Back to reality

Still on a high from yesterday's proceedings with the Rhodo Society meeting.  I stand looking at the disaster of my own garden, but realise that this is the last patch of couch in one of my garden beds.  I tried to get it all out, but it was impossible.  I find I can only do a bit at a time - it's the knees you know.

But then I turn to make one of Rick Stein's meatball recipes, and find that I can pick all my own fresh herbs.  So that's got to be win of sorts, although a minor one.  Or maybe not so minor.  Herbs are so expensive to buy, that it's worth while growing your own.
