Bridge 2 - Middlewich Branch

I haven't blipped a Shropshire Union Canal bridge for a couple of months partly because the nearest ones are a bit of a drive away now.

This is Rutter's Bridge, number 2 on the Middlewich Branch. This canal links the main branch at Barbridge with the Trent & Mersey at Middlewich and opened in 1833.

The bridge has no public right of way and just links the fields either side of the canal. I have learnt that these are called accommodation bridges. They were constructed where the canal bisected a landowner or farmer's land so that they could access their fields.
