The Edge of the Wold

Caped canine and snow

You can see that the caped canine isn't looking too enthusiastic about the conditions near the top of Arnside Knott. He usually likes the snow, but even at 0730 it had turned to slush and it was raining steadily. He hates getting his feet wet, he's fine with cold and dry, but wet and cold is a bad combination. I could have brightened this image up, but at this time in the morning under heavy cloud with rain falling, it really was as dark and colourless as this.

There must have been a heavy dump of snow during the night as the front went through, yew trees were bending over the paths under the weight and we got even wetter from the small avalanches we released as we brushed underneath.

It was a quick up and down, and then home to dry off, have breakfast and head to Lindale for Wifie's class.  The snow was deeper and the rain later arriving on that side, and we wondered if we would be the only two there. But one by one, a good number of the stalwart regulars appeared, first on the scene being Blipfoto's very own Flavia13.  A good session we had.

The snow wasn't to last long, though the weather was resolutely grey most of the day.
