Overly-literal

A person can, of course, expect to feel a little flat after being away.  

But I could have done without this. 

Still, the local heroes at the tyre-fitting place saved the day very nicely. 

A good Candidates practice later on, with a whole bunch of new tunes tried for the first (or maybe second) time.
