Afternoon Jaunt
My 'quick' trip to Stirling by bus this afternoon turned out to be much longer than expected. We were diverted over the high road via Fintry due to the main road being closed because of an accident.
This was the view on the way back, taken from my front seat upstairs on the bus. It shows the isolation of the area.
It's several years since I've been on that road and it reminded me of the time when the late ex-Laird dropped the 14-year-old D#1 off at a friend's isolated house for a visit one night. He drove off to a meeting in Stirling before K realised it was the wrong house, so - this being before the days of mobile phones - in a panic she knocked on the door and explained what had happened to the woman who answered. She wasn't very sympathetic to K's predicament, but fortunately allowed K to phone the friend's house and her mum very kindly came to the rescue. It still brings me out in a sweat when I think of how differently it could have ended!
Enjoyed the first episode of 'Flesh and Blood' last night and will be watching the next one tonight. Great cast!
