Ghost sign

Sad to note on my way home from work that a wee coffee shop close to me has closed down. The shop unit has been completely gutted and the sign had been taken off outside. I was really intruiged to see that, where the sign had been taken down, an older hand painted sign has been revealed underneath. Apparently this shop was once an art dyers and dry cleaners (see extra). An interesting combination! I'm not sure how old the sign is, but it is always facinating to see the archaeology of shop signs revealed when shop fronts are renovated. I wonder what is hiding beneath some of the other modern shop fronts around me?
