Wild Wild Life

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

The thing I have not mentioned about the new house is how out in the country it feels. This is evidenced by the amount of bugs we get.

Caro sent me this picture of a mantis today. She loves mantises. She loves the way they turn their little heads and look at you. We have also had a big stick insect which we lost somewhere, a number of cicadas and a handful of moths.

I also awoke the other morning to find a snail halfway across the ceiling. What the eff was that about?

Jasper has gotten wind to all this buzzing, tweeting, chirping, flapping life going on outside. He wants OUT. More to the point, he wants MEEE-OUT.

It's a little bit surprising because he never showed such inclinations at Aurora. I wonder if it is because it is so much quieter here?

However, we can't accomodate him just yet. On account of lack of funds. Therefore, tomorrow's mission is to go to Animates pet store and to buy a pair of cat-leashes.

That will be me. Tomorrow night. Out in the garden with cats on a leash. There will be pictures.

S.
