The Whip

A trip to Stratford to see a drama called The Whip which cleverly referred to the political role of Chief Whip who is trying to push through the abolition of slavery act coupled with reference to abhorrent treatment slaves in the West Indies received. It also referenced the inhuman treatment in English cotton mills and the use of children which often resulted in fatalities. It’s a modern play, cleverly staged with lots of current “woke” issues and language, beautifully acted by the RSC of course,- thought provoking, shocking and also funny. See it if you can.
