Offspring
Two special narcissus today, both raised from seed. The pale yellow one a dwarf trumpet daffodil raised from seed of Narcissus eugeniae, it's not typical for the species but very nice and a similar raising made by a leading narcissus grower has been named 'Trumpet Voluntary'. The white one is only half as tall at about 3 inches and was raised from my own seed collected from the pale yellow one. Several different forms came from the same seed pod, all with strong influence of Narcissus bulbocodium, the hoop petticoat narcissus. It seems that this is a hybrid between these two quite different species. I cannot claim to have done this deliberately but am very happy with the outcome.
A productive day. Car serviced, eyes tested, more sorting done and helpful three appointments made for Jamie with different support services in Wales. Happy with that!
