We awoke to thick mist and heavy sleet but it was not long before the sky started to clear and for a period there were very few clouds. The view from Sannox beach looking up to Suidhe Fearghas and the jagged ridges of Cir Mhor, Caisteal Abhail and Cioch na h-Oighe looked impressive against the blue sky and it was hard to realise that we had ever climbed these. The snow which was blowing off the ridges of Cioch na h-Oighe into The Devil’s Punchbowl corrie looked as if the Devil was brewing something. We had a short walk up the glen after finding the gravestone of a man who greatly inspired S as a youth and influenced his future career. Then the sky darkened with another heavy sleet shower but we had been so fortunate to visit one of our favourite places in sunshine and experience the peace with only the sound of birds, wind and water.
