A Lovely Afternoon in the Garden

I had the BEST time in my garden this afternoon! We have a marvelous man who takes care of our lawn and leaf removal and so on - he owns his own company and it's just him and a helper. He's kind and conscientious and I so enjoy talking with him. I've been asking him for a while if I could have an hour or so of his muscle to help me dig out some aggressive perennials in my garden....and they were able to come today.

It was gorgeous this afternoon and they spent about 90 minutes digging out the most aggressive plants. I worked along side of them...digging out things that were more manageable for me. It would have taken me days to do what they did in such a short time...and they took them away to boot!  He's going to bring me a goodly pile of soil to fill in the holes.  So now I have a garden with plants I love, and the opportunity to fill in the gaps with appropriate plants. I'm thrilled to bits!

Meanwhile, in the back garden this Euphorbia 'Ascot Rainbow' was absolutely glowing this afternoon.
